The Northern Ontario Mining Showcase (NOMS) has officially wrapped another successful year on the international mining stage, following impactful appearances at both the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in Toronto and CIM Connect in Vancouver.

Led by the City of Temiskaming Shores and supported by FedNor, the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase once again stood as one of the largest and most active pavilions at both conventions, bringing together mining supply and service companies, innovators, Indigenous businesses, industry leaders, educators, researchers, and government representatives from across the region.

Over the course of both events, the showcase served as a central hub for networking, collaboration, innovation, and economic opportunity, while continuing to highlight the depth and strength of Northern Ontario’s mining sector to a global audience.

A Strong Presence on the Global Mining Stage

From activation zones and exhibitor showcases to speaker panels and real-time onsite media coverage, the 2026 campaign continued to build on the momentum established over the past several years.

At PDAC alone, the NOMS pavilion welcomed thousands of attendees throughout the week, featuring over 110 exhibitors and a packed schedule of presentations and discussions focused on innovation, workforce development, Indigenous participation, artificial intelligence, electrification, export opportunities, and the future of mining in Canada.

CIM Connect in Vancouver carried that momentum forward, creating another opportunity for Northern Ontario businesses and organizations to strengthen relationships, build visibility, and connect directly with decision-makers from across the mining industry.

Our mission here is to bring Northern Ontario to the floor. Investors from all over the world come here because they know it’s a one-stop-shop to develop their products.

Together, the two conventions helped reinforce Northern Ontario’s position as a leading force within Canada’s mining supply and services sector.

Speaker Series Draws Industry Attention

One of the major highlights of this year’s showcase was the continued growth of the NOMS Speaker Series.

Over multiple days at PDAC, industry professionals gathered inside the pavilion to hear from speakers and panelists discussing a wide range of timely topics, including interprovincial trade, mining innovation, talent development, electrification, Indigenous partnerships, defence diversification, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and international market opportunities.

The speaker lineup also included several notable announcements and high-profile discussions involving provincial leadership, Indigenous communities, educators, and industry stakeholders.

A major moment during the week included Ontario’s accelerated plan for the construction of all-season roads to the Ring of Fire, announced within the NOMS pavilion alongside First Nations leadership and provincial representatives.

Showcasing Northern Ontario Innovation

Beyond the speaker stage, the pavilion floor remained active throughout both events with activation zones, exhibitor spotlights, demonstrations, and live engagement opportunities.

From advanced drone and 3D scanning technology to modular infrastructure solutions, electrification research, engineering services, safety innovations, Indigenous entrepreneurship, and equipment manufacturing, exhibitors showcased the diversity and expertise that exists across Northern Ontario’s mining ecosystem.

We’ve made a lot of local, as well as international contacts which is really important. It’s excellent.

Real-time onsite media coverage helped amplify those stories throughout the week, with video interviews, photography, social media content, and exhibitor spotlights extending the reach of the showcase well beyond the convention floor.

The campaign generated significant online engagement across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X, helping bring additional visibility to exhibitors, speakers, partners, and the showcase itself.

Celebrating the People Behind the Industry

While the technology, innovation, and announcements were a major part of this year’s success, the people behind the pavilion remained at the heart of the experience.

Throughout PDAC and CIM Connect, the showcase created opportunities for meaningful conversations, new partnerships, and reconnecting with colleagues and collaborators from across the industry.

From exhibitors and organizers to students, suppliers, researchers, and Indigenous leaders, the events highlighted the strong sense of community that continues to drive the mining sector forward in Northern Ontario.

The showcase also celebrated International Women’s Day during PDAC with a special Women of PDAC photo opportunity and campaign content recognizing the leadership and impact of women across the industry.

Looking Ahead

As another successful campaign comes to a close, planning and conversations are already beginning for the future of the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase.

The continued growth of the pavilion, its digital presence, and its industry partnerships reflects the ongoing demand for Northern Ontario’s expertise and the value the showcase continues to bring to exhibitors and attendees alike.

The City of Temiskaming Shores, FedNor, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and attendees all played an important role in helping make the 2026 campaign possible.

To everyone who visited the pavilion, participated in the Speaker Series, engaged with the campaign online, or supported the showcase throughout the year, thank you.

The Northern Ontario Mining Showcase looks forward to continuing to represent the innovation, strength, and opportunity of Northern Ontario on the global mining stage for years to come.
